Days outdoors: RHS Wisely

At the beginning of September, we start to feel the season turn as nature clings onto the warmth of summer’s end. But if you’re looking see a final display of everything nature has to offer, then look no further. Manicured lawns, curated borders and clipped box hedges. Quiet greenhouses, spent roses and trees with years of wisdom. Alpines. Bonsais. Wild flowers. Everywhere you turn at RHS Wisely, there is something beautiful and interesting to behold. A flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society, Wisely is one of the UK’s most visited and adored gardens. And for me, a little pocket of heaven.

Originally created as an Oak wood experimental garden in 1878, RHS Wisely is now a 240 acre home to over 25,000 different plant species and cultivars. It’s abundant. From trial gardens filled with new flower varieties, to a world food garden bursting with every fruit and vegetable you could imagine - it’s a hub for conservation and innovation with endless inspiration to take home. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or someone who simply enjoys walking in nature, Wisely is truly something special. In one day it feels like you’re only just scratching the surface, but as an RHS member you can enjoy unlimited free days out to all 5 RHS Gardens, including Wisely. Find out more at rhs.org.uk
